I've been photographing the Gilman boys basketball Class 1a Regional Tournament this week.
Last nite, the Iroquois West Raiders pulled it out in overtime to beat the Newark Norsemen.
Talk about EXCITING!!
Here are a couple of shots from the game.
They will be playing the St. Anne Cardinals, who had won earlier in the evening against Gardner South Wilmington.
Way to go guys!! You Rock.

Amazing how time flies and I've been remiss in keeping this updated.
I've been traveling around the country since the beginning of the year and now I'm home for awhile.
This week is regional week for basketball. It is my favorite sport to photograph - so exciting and capturing the expressions on they guy's faces is priceless.

This shot was awesome, right at the halftime buzzer - amazingly it went in for 3 points to give Grant Park a lead going into the locker room.
I like this image - the intensity that shows in these guys faces tells the whole story.
This is baaaaad - no one has even come close on the Whatsit - so I'm posting a slightly pulled back version of the original Whatsit --- we'll see if anyone can come up with it. And now that it is so much easier - in order to win, you'll have to give some specifics of what it is.
I've had people ask if it is just in Onarga, and the answer is NO - the same item is all over, in pretty much any town around - if you just are looking for it.

If you don't know what this is .... just google "Trash the dress" or "Trash the Prom Dress"
It can be your last year's dress that you got to go with the hunky guy who was your date who turned into a jerk & you want to trash your dress in the same manner.
It could also be for a wedding dress where the groom turned into a goon & you want all vestiges of the marriage taken out, or even if he isn't outta the picture - the trash the wedding gown can still be fun!
This looks like an absolute BLAST! & I wanna do some.
I soooo want to do a TTPD session that I will give whoever contacts me first requesting a TTPD session, your session will be absolutely FREE + 1 ministrip multi-image print to save it for posterity.
We would discuss some things about you - and what you like to do & how the dress could get properly trashed.

Things have been busy here - it's High School Senior time!!! My favorite time of year cuz Srs are sooooo much fun. An awesome new background will be in within the next couple of days and I'm really looking foreward to using it.

I just spent an awesome week at the Pere Marquette Lodge, just outside of Grafton IL. The lodge is on the banks of the Illinois river, a few miles upstream from where it merges with the Mississippi river. I assisted at the Illinois Workshops, which holds annual week-long continuing education classes for professional photographers. That location is wonderful, as it is very remote, quiet, virtually no cell phone service, and gives you the opporturnity to relax and thoroughly immerse yourself in learning for 8+ hours a day.
The class I was in was taught by Lori Nordstom, a reknown photographer whose specialty is Maternity and Newborn portraiture.
Here are a couple of images that I took while in the class.
In order to become more proficient in this style of portraiture, I am offering a complimentary Maternity session to the first 5 expectant mothers who contact me for an appointment. This time is so often overlooked as a reason to capture it through portraiture. It can be a wonderful affirmation to your baby to have those portraits as she grows up, to know it was so loved before she was born.
